The best labor saver I've come across in a while was mentioned a while back. To clean the putty and crap out of old screw heads that you need to remove, use a dremel tool with a small, small bit. It works splendidly, does a clean job that allows you to get a good purchase with your screwdriver, and it is fast!

What's your best restoration tip folks, I could use them all.

If you don't have a dremel. a pencil soldering iron will soften the paint or putty on the screw head. A screwdriver tip heated with a torch works well too.

Or just put a 4d finnish nail in your cordless. Works better than a small bit in a dremel since it won't damage the screw.

Steven: Do we have to send to Finland for those 4d finnish nails? Sorry for being a smarta**, but I couldn't resist it. Good suggestion. :D :D

Create as much space around a boat as you can.

Standardise your products, if possible.

Get to know your materials and their curing times.

Keep your tapes clean. Hand cut your tape edges on glass when painting hard edges and stripes if need be.

Finally, always be prepared for a spill.
