My son and a friend have gone on a roadtrip this week, camping and visiting friends on Nova Scotia. They camped out last night at the Yarmouth Lighthouse: 24 degrees, twenty knots. "Snowy and blowy" he wrote. Ah to be young and foolish again. :D

Meanwhile, it's been blowing 35 knots from the southeast here in Maine with gusts to 40. Shingles flying last night, a basement window blew in at 4 AM and at work shrinkwrapped boats are getting a bit beat up by flying debris. Seas off Monhegan are running at 25 feet.

Strong SE winds 35 knots gusting to 50 last night and today, backing to SW 15 today, 3 to 5 m seas. The ferry from Saint John to Digby was cancelled this morning, forcing my clients to drive an extra six hours around the head of the Bay of Fundy to go home to Portland.

Nice pic of the Cape Forchu light. That wasn't taken anytime in the past 48 hours...
