I bought a cheap second "brass and rubber" hand pump on ebay - and it just arrived today with some other goodies from the same seller. It is about 6" in diameter and shoots a good stream of water about 6' just with hand pressure. No brand name anywhere.

Does anyone know who made these?
Incidentally - I also bought a bronze Simac # 0 pump on ebay too and it also pumps well, but the only problem with using one of these on the putt putt is that they need priming.... its also damn heavy - at about 12 pounds...

The one on top may be a foot (operated) pump.

Thats subjective.:D
He might be mounting it under a springy thwart in which case its .....( now there's an idea.. if only someone like say, Frank Herbert could come up with something like that)
(gawd , its slow on the forum today)

National holiday, Thanksgiving Day, in the US. Everyone's at Grandma's house eating turkey and trying to get along with extended family that they haven't seen since this time last year.

Yeah - I've bought lots of bits and pieces lately.
A whole heap of "brass" bits that were of course, bronze .... things like fender hangers, throttle, etc, another Lucas SR1 magneto (which pretty much completes the cheap spares Blaxland 3.5hp single - which is no longer seized), a folding prop for $31, and so on.
Re that Simac pump - I was walking through one of the Sunday markets in Coffs Harbour the week after I bought it - and spotted one for a third the price that I paid on ebay - fortunately, on closer examination, it was a cast iron one.....

Yep. I always make sure to search with "brass" as well as 'bronze" when looking for bronze stuff on those things.
My, the bronze bits do add up. I was just thinking about dedicating a large shelf to them in the shop so I can always see whats even there.

I think I'll stick with the small foot pump to start.
