I saw the same thing coming home from work one day. Pick-up had rear-ended the car ahead, and the runabout came off the trailer and into the pickup bed, resting on the cab.
The traffic announcer on the radio was quite excited to report such a novelty to the other commuters.
In this case, there is no obvious evidence of straps on the transom.

Yabut - look at the bend in the frame of the trailer in the other photo -- I'd say the boat was correctly secured with straps or whatever, but once the old Delta-V got into the act it was too much to hold the boat on the trailer after the frame bottomed out on the ground.

I've responded to an accident scene at which the boat came off the trailer and onto the highway. The first thing I said was "you can't dock here..." :)
