The wheels of justice turn slowly, but........

A MAN has been arrested in Queensland over a Sydney Harbour boating collision that killed six people earlier this year.

The man arrested was Percy Small who had been a barman at Balmain's Commercial Hotel a the time of the accident, The Daily Telegraph reports. (http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,24710752-5001021,00.html)

About 2.05pm today, detectives arrested a 24-year-old man without incident at a home in Sippy Downs on the Sunshine Coast, police said.

On May 1 this year, a fishing trawler and a 23-foot half cabin run-around collided near Bradleys Head.

The crash killed 29-year-old Alex Nikakis, 25-year-old Jessica Holloway, 22-year-old Alexander Rumiz, 21-year-old Stacey Wright, 20-year-old Elizabeth Holder, and 32-year-old Ashlei Ayres.

Nine other people were taken to hospital sustaining injuries as a result of the incident.

The group of 14 on the boat was celebrating the sale of the Commercial Hotel when they went on the ill-fated trip.

Mr Small was taken to Maroochydore Police Station where police said he is currently assisting with their investigation.

Detectives expect to lay charges later this evening.

So the runabout was in the wrong? Dismissing all the speculation about those rotten commercial trawler guys being too busy working the boat and not keeping a proper lookout. You'd have to assume there's some evidence of drinking on the party boat.

Yep, it was only surprising that it has taken so long to arrest the guy.
