Here are a couple projects that I finally completed. The cradle was built to a deadline, grandson wouldn't wait for my usual procrastinations. The Pacific Dory took some years part time and between fishing trips. WB current issue has a good article this month on these dories.

That's a great looking Baby Tender! Is that the one from the Expectant Father's Cradle book?

Interesting - This post ,as with a number of others recently, gives me the dreaded "boxed X". We have a high speed cable connection and pictures work from many other posts. Any ideas?

Hello all-- sorry about the dreded x boxes I'm not really sure how to cure the problem but will work on it. That is my first attempt with web pics.

The dory was made from Glen-L plans with some modifications. It is marine ply over white oak frames fastened mostly with bronze. The motor well has been beefed-up to handle the weight of the 4stroke. Although these boats are launched through the surf that is not my intention. This was the first boat of any kind that I attempted.

I believed the advert "quick, easy and cheap to build" right!

The cradle is from the WB Expectant Father's Cradle Book and even though it was the second boat it got finished first, babies have their own schedule. It is made of mahogany, Sitka Spruce, Western Red Cedar and some odd pine that was lying around the shop. It is covered with 6oz. gl&&&&Epo&&, which helps to stabilize moisture, presents some abrasion resistance and adds some strength. Unfortunatley the baby was quite the lug and his time in the cradle was limited. It is now home for part of his toy collection. Scantlings was little as you might imagine. There are 40+planks per side.
