Its been 12 months since I bought her and progress has been slower than I would have liked. I will also need to take a few more pics in the next few days to show the improvements.

I designed and built an aluminium outboard bracket.
put a new Jarah sole in the cockpit.
I added removable seats as she has none in the cockpit.
Sanded back the deck to her dynel layer filled all her holes with wood plugs and repainted it.
This is half done and yet to be completed.
Made a nice teak tow rail with dyneema loops sticking out of it for attaching her new covers.
Fitted electronics switch board and bilge pump system.
Converted an old tape deck from a Jaguar and wired in a headphone jack so I can play my musi through it while maintaining the classic look.
Pulled her out last weekend and faired back the hull with a wet sand and epoxy filler before giving her a nice coat of red antifouling.

Bought a nice SS BBQ which I will put aboard for day cruising.
She will get her first cook up next week on Boxing day when the Sydney to Hobart kicks off.

Enjoy the pics I will try get some of the cockpit and outboard bracket over the next few days.

She is really coming along! I am very happy for you and it looks like she is going to be a very happy boat while you are with her.

Marvelous.

Nice one, Salty! I didn't realise it was you that bought WINGS, that's great. She's a much nicer boat than that poor old thing you were looking at a while back! She's coming along nicely too, will look a picture when she's done. I look forward to seeing her out on the water sometime soon :).

Cheers

Tony

Very nice indeed.

Where are the photos taken?

The first shots are on her mooring up middle harbour in Sydney.
The slipping was done at CastleCrag just one bay up from where I keep her.

CastleCrag (http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=-33.80389,151.223701&spn=0.003258,0.004807&t=h&z=18)

There was a funny story on my return journey.
I left the slipway under full steam and decided to take a tour around Sugar Loaf Bay (http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=-33.793254,151.230905&spn=0.013035,0.019226&t=h&z=16).
I spent a good 20 mins putting around before heading back to my mooring on other side of the Harbour.
I get closer to home and take my bearing off the familiar boats in the mooring field when I spot a new comer 28ft fiberglass sailing boat, almost parked on my spot and hooked up on a mooring.
I was furious, they had dropped an new mooring next to mine with bugger all swing room and I was only gone a couple of days!!

As I drew closer my anger dissipated as was exchanged for sht sht fk shes adrift... Windy, on my own, and a 30 sq with a 5hp and doesn’t make for good towing or maneuvering in a mooring field...
I gave it a shot to pull alongside and the wind blew up pushing my boat and the drifter towards a large bowsprit of a rusty steel vessel. I floored it and just avoided being the meat in the sandwich. Within moments the drifter collided, and its railing got caught in the bowsprit. She was stuck.

I was able to hook on to my mooring and transfer the outboard onto my dinghy.
Climbed onboard the drifter just in time, as she had worked herself free. I managed to tie her off along side the big rusty boat and there was very little damage.

Somewhere in all that I called a mate on speed dail who notified the Maritime authorities.

As it wasn't urgent they arrived 2 hrs later to relocate the vessel.
After a quick chat to get my story they rafted up to the steel beast. 2 seconds before they untied the boats I called out to inform them they were about to tow the perfectly good boat and set the other drifter adrift again!
Woops..

According to its mooring number the boat had drifted from Sugarloaf bay. It still had some of its mooring apartis dragging in the water so there will be a bit of work finding the rest of it.
