While there's a few threads going on similar subjects....
A few years ago I made an engine box in a hurry for a mate . He'd changed engines and I just knew if he made it it'd be a real cobbled up mess of a thing. So the deal was I made it and he painted it.
So I did a fair job and gave it back to him as an epoxied and filleted meranti ply fitted box and I just sealed it with epoxy but decided to try a little experiment on the edges. I mixed some black oxide into some west and taped off the radiused edges and painted out the edges with that ... sort of a wear edge where it'd take the knocks.
He never did paint the thing and 5 years later or so it all looks pretty good still.
So the question is , what would you use as a pigment to do the same job but white?

W.E.S.T. makes white pigment that works very well.

I’ve never tried it, but I always thought it would be fun to experiment with water soluble powdered paint pigments – what we used to call poster paint powder when I was a kid. As long as a pigment isn’t oil based, it should work. Not sure how resistant such a mix would be to UV degradation though.

powdered type of pigments should work..
Just don't use RIT dyes....
Powered chalk used in chalk lines may do the trick...

There is a product sold as white oxide for pigmenting concrete and then has Titanium printed on the packet. How about that?

I asked the question over at my local West supplier when I was picking up some resin last time. He pointed me to the polyester colours and said not to put more than 5% in. I didn't buy.

Titanium DiOxide (TiO2) popular and effective white pigment - used in paints, sunblock and Lite Mayo (really).
You can get an argument abut the exact colour when in a non-clear carrier medium - but that would be unbelievable picky...

I have always purchased epoxy pigments in paste form rather than powder.
It is highly color intense and easy to mix since it is already in semi liquid form.

I second what Jay Greer said. I noticed alot needs to be mixed or elso it has color that you can see through.

I'll look out for that but in the meantime I've got a fairly washed out primer on. I haven't time to paint it up properly so I'll use it for the next few weeks and see how it holds up. At the worst its given me a pre coloured primer base to work from.
In Australia, I bought epoxy pigment from Boatcraft Pacific - white, black, yellow and red. I can mix just about any colour I need with these pigments to match timber colour etc. It's very strong colour - you need very little pigment. The only hassle with it it gets on EVERYTHING unless you're particularly careful (which, sadly, I'm not). I'm sure this pigment would be easily obtained from many US suppliers too, and, as it goes a really long way as you need very little for strong colour, it's quite cheap. I wouldn't muck about experimenting with other additives that could upset the strength of the epoxy. Rick
White paste pigment sold in Boaters World, West Marine, and of course West epoxy systems and System III... just about all marine catalogs ... most all of these pigments work fine. I have used several in the white and had no problems with the epoxy curing fine... with more than 5%. ... mostly Evercoat brand from Boaters World.
System III sells a dandy pigment product and it works great. Mostly, I have used the
