Does anyone know if the tin plated copper nicopress fittings are OK for use with galvanized cable? Seems like quite a mix of dissimilar metals. Wondered if there would be problems with galvanic corrosion.

If you use 1 x 19 wire for standing rigging you will require two sleeves per fitting because of the slow twist in the wire....once the sleeves are compressed, coat them with the same compound that is used on battery terminals to prevent corrosion but it is considered good form to walk around the boat every morning and inspect the sleeves to insure that they are not elongating or spreading...shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes..I circumnavigated twice on boats that used nicopress sleeves on the rigging. Never had one fail...but I watched them CLOSELY.
