How do Y'all, you guy's do it? I hate cold weather. Can't seem to get motivated to be in the shop, when it's damp and cold, and I just hibernate. I'm going to set up a Ben-Franklin wood burner, but I'm a warm weather guy. Give me heat and humidity any day. I did enclose the boat shed some more over the Holiday breaks, but no real BB going on. I not right, I mean I'm off center line right now, and just can't get going.

First, dress for it. Polarfleece and Gore-tex are your friends!! Or, for the recividists, wool and waxed canvas work damn near as well (surprisingly, they aren't any cheaper. Good clothes always cost real money).
Second, get used to it. Seriously. Get a little bundled up and get outside every single day. Once you realize that every day can be 80* if you just dress for it, you'll get more accomplished.
Third, don't be afraid of being a little cold. So your feet are a little chilly. So what? What kind of a man are you? So what if the tips of your fingers aren't fully blood-warm? HTFU!!!
I'm afraid I don't have a *ton* of sympathy for your situation; I commute by bicycle year-around in Minneapolis. Any time I feel cold, I have only myself to blame, as I didn't dress for it well enough.

How cold can it be? You're in Texas?!? Its only -10 C with the wind chill up in Toronto today. What's that 25? And I think they're only calling for 8-10 inches of snow this week.
Yeah, no pitty from north of the boarder either!

Your right, I'm a wimp. I have appropriate cold weather clothes, just need a got tongue slashing, and make a to do list. I'm a little down, I do better when I complete assignments and back on schedule. It's not Zen right now. Must it always be Zen? Thanks guy's..
Some days, some taskes are easier than others.
Make a rule: "work on her every day"
even if it's just cleaning up or putting things away.
15 min or 8 hrs; it's moving forward.
Dressing for it is the most important, layer cause as you get warmed up you gonna have to take some of; good gloves and a touque are critical.
As for the boat; if your glueing up,do this:

with an electric heater inside.
send pics pls.
or in your case, underneath :D

Yeah, a little stove would help. So would insulating your walls and roof!!

You guys are making me feel bad! I avoided my garage Saturday because it was 40 degrees in there. I did manage to get in there on Sunday after I found my space heater.

Yea, thanks all. I did tear off the tin, and made a nice double-hung door, will be great this summer, when I'm bitch'in about the heat. Ill try and get a pic on my barn- boat shop redo. But that's not BB. Feelin better already..
She is lookin good Chuck.
Listen, it's mostly not Zen; it can become a bit of a chore on occasion. I actually find I work better when it's cooler or even cold. But it is about ten times more work than I anticipated. But I owe it to her (and my pride) to continue.
Those days I just don't feel like it, I grab a beer and just go in and walk around her, look at her, talk to her and run my hands over her (she loves to be touched).
Believe me, once under sail she will repay you in spades (Carina did & still does) As rank amature naive builders we have the ability to develop a relationship with these projects that is akin to love. Seriously; I couldn't imagine any other way of life. That's my take on it anyways :o
And yea, insulate that shop; you'll really appreciate in summer.
Though I must confess mine isn't either ;)
