cool, but you have to be careful with the Mt. St. Helens area lumber. Our WA forumites can probably provide better detail than I can.

If it cannot be absolutely confirmed that this timber was cut live and milled soon after than it should go nowhere near the structure of a boat. Deadfall, windfall, blastfall, on the ground for any length of time, forget it, other than cabinet trim. Others will elaborate or correct me on this.
