Have been talking to the owners of a boat for free from the WoodenBoat mag. coulumn. It is a Roy Blaney built boat. It looks like I will end up owning the craft, sounds like an interesting project. We would like to have a smaller craft to keep at Shawns folks in Harpswell.
Do you think it un reasonable to consider trailering this boat, with a proper rig, can a trailer be rented, does anyone have one that can be used?? (I do have a proper truck)
The boat is 25', not sure of the beam yet, about 3tons.
Or should I just hire it out, does anyone know of a reasonable hauler for smaller boats.(it is in Long Island,NY)
Roy Blaney and family were good friends of ours as I once owned his boat the, Jenny Ives, we spent many years sailing and helping him and Ann build their last craft. I miss them both!

I'd hire a boat hauler, Vinny. You could start by calling around to these guys:
Blue Star Boat Transport - 207-236-4285 or 877-226-4285
Mike Devine – 207-596-1280 (boats less than 18,000 lbs)
Alan Drinkwater – 207-594-7393 (larger boats only)
Journey’s End – 207-594 -4444
Lee Powell – 832-2222 (12 ton limit)
Paulsen Brothers 207-372-6330 (sailboats over 26 feet, 20 ton/40-ft limit)

We were happy with Mike Devine, he brought Talisman from Rockland to Portland.
