Can some of you provide some reputable suppliers of marine plywood that are in the New York / Massachusetts area?

I've heard mixed reviews on Boulter Plywood and the only other I know of is Noah's Ark in Buffalo/Toronto.

Thanks!

Connecticut Hardwoods in Enfield CT, if you are in that area. Just Occume, but they will order anything that you need.

Really? Marine Grade?

Yes, but as I said, just 1088 Occume. I forget the brand, but the decal has an elephant on it and it is made in Greece. At least the last time that I bought there, about 6 months ago.

There prices are on line. They also have green white oak that they sell as truck decking for cheap, not the highest grade, but they will let you pick through the stack.

Just saw them again at the Woodworker's Show in West Springfield last weekend. (Pitiful show, BTW...) I didn't notice that on their line card. Sure would save me the drive out to Boulter. Thanks for that.

My limited review of Boulter is that they carry reliable quality wood.

If I left anyone with the opinion that Boulter was someway substandard, I didn't mean to - I've purchased happily from them in the past. They are just a long drive from where I am located.

I have had disappointments with Boulter and prefer to trade elsewhere. For plywood, I like Maine Coast Lumber and for hardwoods Downes & Reader.

Their website gives a good description. A bit far away for me, though.

Quality that fell short of expectation
- Plywood, represented as BS1088 that clearly was not
- Haphazard grading of rough hardwoods. Spar grade sitka spruce with 30 degree grain runout, compression fractures in sapele
- mis-picking- substituting okoume for sapele plywood.

I like Connecticut Plywood Corp. in Milford, Ct. You'll need a business card with your info on it to start a cash acct. there, but you'll get wholesale prices, and superior service.
