Hi
I am new to the forum so just a little bit about myself.
I probably own around 20 or so sets of boat plans, misc. sail, canoe, kayak & power boat. I have owned a couple of dozen misc types of the boats. I have built strip canoes & kayaks, geodisic canoe & a plywood sail boat. Restored & built numerous motorcycles & car projects. Many projects - lots of long cold winters up here.
Currently I have been bitten by the wood - especially mahogany style runabouts. After years of studying various boats I have made the decision to build the 16' hacker/Zimmer runabout, the Restless by Atkin or similar.
Just curious if anyone ever finished this or is working on a similar project. More than likley I will cold mold this boat rather than the older construction style's.
One question that seems to create a lot of controversy is regarding the engine, specifically weight & power for these older designs. Don't get me wrong I love speed but - being the fastest machine is not always what it is all about. Speed with class has its place.
It would be great to talk to others with any information or similar interest in these beautiful little boats.
