Hello all..........happy Friday 13th!!

I have a very old, still in the box Granta Boats (UK company that I believe is no longer in business) stitch and glue Triad K-1 kayak kit that I want to put together.....problem is, I cannot find the owners manual / instruction booklet that came with the kit when I imported it from the UK back in the 70's......

The boat is an Olympic flatwater marathon style kayak, 17 ft long......

Would anyone know where I may be able to find the original Granta Boats manual for this Triad K-1 kit? I think a company called "Ottersports" in Canada may have taken over some of the Granta designs, but they do not seem to now come up on the internet.......

Many thanks for any suggestions......

If no one has a manual, why not take a picture of all of the pieces laid out adjacent to one another. If you put a number on each piece it wouldn't be that hard with the collective knowledge here to provide a building plan.

It might be a helpful way for some of us to get through the balance of winter. Do it quick though, come about the beginning of April, it tends to quiet quite a bit around here.

I actually built one of those around about 1989. Ottersports was the importer for the Granta kits here, and I bought it from a shop called Pacific Canoe Base which is (sadly) long gone.

I looked in my file, and I found an old instruction manual for a Pygmy, but not for the Granta (which had an orange-red cover if I recall correctly)
I'll see if I can find any photos of the build...I always take lots of photos...but that bunch is likely to be in a shoe box at my mum's place or something...

They were popular around here...I'm sure something will turn up. It was a fun boat to paddle, I wish I still had it...and the ply was Bruynzeel, I think...wow, takes me back...
