Here is the toolbox I replicated from WoodenBoat Magazine. A fun project and handsome addition to my tool collection. There were a few changes, of course, being lazy I used box joints for the outside corners, secured with copper and bronze nails. The drawer corners are half lapped and bronze nailed. All the wood is local Maine and conn., stock. Chestnut,Cherry,Walnut,B Locust,Maple.
Now I need some tools to fill it!:D

Nice. I've never been able to decide whether I like toolboxes better when they're brand spanking new, or all beat to hell after 20 years of hard use. At any rate, i'm sure this one will give that kind of service.

Looks like a great winter project. Good work there. I'm sure you'll find something like that very useful.

Lately, I've been using a random old drawer for my tools. I have a tool box, and a tool bucket ... but I like to fill up my drawer with tools and carry it off to whatever I'm working on. It has a nice big open top, and you can just reach inside and grab what you need.

Looks great. How big did you make it and how much did it wind up weighing?

Thanks for the replies,it was a great winter project and I'll bring it Sat. if thats OK.
I made it to the size in the WBM, weight about 15lbs.
I know what you mean about being used , every nick I put in it while constructing was a bruise to my ego. I didn't use any sandpaper, hand planes, chisels, auger bits,a bit of an excersize. Finished it with shellac.
