Dave is using a slightly stretched version of dinkydink as a nesting tender for his Bartender. He further decided to go plyplank on frame instead of S&G but he is doing a fantastic job with the conversion. First he made a model from the panel offsets I gave him then constructed a frame from the lofting off of the model. Currently he has the hull built and cut and is working on the details now. Here is a link to the build: http://www.pbase.com/bartenderdave/tender

Putting in a lot of work for a pram dinghy. It does look good though.

The pram is intended for use with my Bartender, all right, but the design has no association with Bartender Boats. All of the errors and omissions are mine. [grin] In nested form it will fit just aft of the engine box, leaned forward while running to minimize windage. Upright, the nested parts will be clear of the engine box when it is tilted back, for changing tanks, checking the stuffing box, etc.
It has been more work than I expected; I built it off frames in lieu of stitch and glue because I had never lofted before, and I wanted that experience. I'm glad I did that -- the lofted lines were very useful in correcting errors I made. Using spruce for the frames and other hull structure parts also placed demands I had not anticipated. Spruce is a bit tricky to work with, but tough and light, properly used. Right now, it comes in at 65 lbs. I expect it will hit 70 before I am done.
Anyone reading between the lines in the photo album will figure those out.
BTW, I've been calling the design Dinky Dink Large, because Steve blew up the panels from his Dinky Dink a bit to bring the displacement a bit higher -- so we can safely row two in it. Many thanks to Steve for his kind assistance.
Should be wet in about a month.

I knew you were a member of one (or more) of the forums I haunt but I couldn't remember your sign in name.
