The University of Southern Maine invites applications for the position of Head Sailing Coach. This is a part-time, 10-month, grant funded appointment. Responsibilities include performing all duties required to effectively direct and coach the sailing team.
Perform all duties necessary to develop a competitive, compliant, and successful program.
Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with an emphasis on teaching, coaching, or leadership. Sailing and/or coaching experience in the sport. Experience working with students in a team or sports setting. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to student development. Strong work ethic and a commitment to student-athletes. Preferred: Master’s degree with emphasis on teaching, coaching, or leadership. Coaching experience at the college level. Previous experience working with college student-athletes. Experience in marketing, communication and special events. Experience working with student-athletes in a learning community.
