Pardon an old landlubber, but what the heck is "hull splashing"???

Splashing is making a (fiberglass) mold from another builder's boat and using that mold to make boats for sale. It saves a lot of cost to do it that way.
The builder whose boat is 'splashed' probably won't like it.

So we can expect fewer 200 HP boats with 6" of freeboard? Sounds like a good deal to me?
