Well I finally got 0ff my duff and started the building form for FLOOZIE ,I’m using those wood Ibeams made from flake board there strong and stright as an arrow .I know this isn’t the best way to haul them but since a young lady decided to run a stop sign I don’t have a pickup any more. One good thing about it is I great service at the lumber yard, all the guys come running to see the boat. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid19/paf8de3d5d95ea4cec80a9eaf272114ea/fdc74a0b.jpgThis is just a quickie set up in the shop to see how the ribs are going to line up every thing looks ok except for one rib I screwed up when I picked up the bevel ,so I will have to shim it . http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid19/p269988d730824fa6bf06a5647f6bc303/fdc74a0a.jpgI also drilled the inner and outer stems and the stem knee . the bolts are 3/8 ss . I could use some advice on the Ibolt in the picture first it’s galvanized and every thing else is ss will that be a problem . and second I don’t like the look of having a Ibolt sticking out of the stem . I don’t think it will go with the 1930s style I’m trying for do you guys think I could just power it up onto the trailer rather than drag it on with a winch. The only experience I have trailering is with the dory in the first pic and I just pull that on by hand . To Ibolt or not to Ibolt that is the question? http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid19/p1bb0a71ac6484c1b90ffe4588188e4c5/fdc74a09.jpg

Geez, I'm envious. Looking good so far. I don't know about powering it up the trailer though, seems like too much could go wrong. What about a couple of stainless flush mount dock rings on either side of the stem, mounted in the hull with a support inside running up to the stem, so it is taking the strain, not the hull, with a piece of webbing or something that you could clip in each one and have a center point to attach the winch? I'm sure you could rig up some kind of cover if you find the flush dock rings an eyesore.
