Hi all, a friend of mine wants some land cleared for a new paddock. My parent heat with wood as do I, he knows this and is not in a hurry to slash and chip so it is win win.
The wood being sloowwwwwly cleared is a grove of black locust. Most of the trees are over 60 ft. tall and alot of them are very straight with no branches from floor to canopy and very healthy. While I was Bucking some blown down trees I noticed how rediculously straight, branchless and tall the trees were. After looking into it a bit (google) I learned this type of wood may be of some use to someone..... like home boat builders, guitar makers and archers.
What I'm interested in is seeing someone use some of this for something of good use like a boat, guitar or bow.
So I have posted a similar message on "the acoustic guitar forum" and "the primitive archer forum" and this one. The wood is in upstate New York and is still standing. no borer beatles
I am not a commercial seller of wood and this is NOT a logging operation.
The offer: I am interested in trading. Drop me an E-mail letting me know what you are looking for, diameter and length, and trade offers.
If I can Help out then I will cut one down that has a section you need, send you pics of the ends so you can see the growth ring tightness and heart. if you think what you see would be perfect for your project then we can proceed from there, the rest will get split and stacked.
sincere takers only please though I am open to any questions
Thanks for looking Joe
