Anyone know of a source?....Preferably used....I've called the local boat yards and they all sounded less than optimistic...

Size pole? Do you need the mast hardware also?

The pole will be about 7' long. The one the client had been using came from a Lightning...( It went swimming and never came back. ) I'm putting an "inchworm" on to use with a toppinglift or downhaul, unless someone has a better idea....

I've been watching Ebay for these for years - occasionally they come along. More frequently they're of the size you seem to be seeking ~1.25" dia at the pole end than what I seek, 1.75" dia at the pole end.

R&W in New Bedford has the 1 3/4" and 2 1/4" sizes.

Doug,
I have a spin. pole from a larger (35') boat. The fittings' straps are 8" long and about 2" between the tips. The ends of the wood part are rectangular and tapered, so they won't work on a tubular pole.
You're welcome to 'em. Will send pix if you like.
Are the consignment shops in Mystic and Wickford still there?

An email to Ernie Minney at http://www.minneysyachtsurplus.com/ might be fruitful.

Davey makes fittings. They are available from the Wooden Boat Foundation in Port Townsend.

I was hoping for something in the 1"-1 1/4" range..... 2" would make for a pretty stout pole.....
Thanks for the responses, I'll keep 'em in mind as I continue to search.... Hmmmm.... Seems that Ledger took a foundry course....Maybe he needs some practice before he makes widgets for his new catboat "ROBO-CAT" :D

Minney's had a bronze one two weeks ago. It was heavy, heavy, heavy.
National City Foundry in San Diego (619) 298-1795 has the patterns for the one they cast for Dennis Conner's Cotton Blossom II, it is fairly large. They cast it in bronze and Dennis didn't like the weight and had it cast in AL and bronze/brass plated, btw. That foundry has very good pricing. I've taken my patterns to them for three different items and they've always been very professional and reasonably priced.
