Hello,I am considering laminating new floor timbers out of kiln dried white oak.The floors are 21/2"s thick and about 12"tall,the problem i'm having is they only dry white oak up to 13/4".Not able to wait for air dried.I have had bad luck with west and white oak, does anyone have a sure way to laminate oak. Thanks!

Lots of opinions will surface on this, but I've had bad luck with recorcinal. I used Weldwood plastic resin for White Oak laminations and encapsulated all with epoxy and polyurethane.
Not too sure about kiln dried Oak in the bilge. I've had it swell 3/4" over a 15" width and 3" thickness (my former sternpost).

Who told you that "they" only kiln dry White Oak up to 8/4? I regularly buy KD12/4 White Oak. http://www.thewoodrack.net/lumber.html

Resorcinal is the recommended glue, but is VERY picky about temperature and clamping pressure. You MUST meet the requirements for the above or it will fail -- I had similar problems with the Weldwood resin glue. Working with epoxy and other more forgiving adhesives has spoiled us for using the more finicky ones.

I've glued some white oak with WEST G-10 and it seems to be holding well on rubrails. The WEST folks say it is made for hard to glue woods. I would think it should work great for floors but you might want to call the Gougeon co.
