Thanks Mark,
I'm building a gentlemans runabout and it specifies a Westerbeke 26g. I'm looking for an alternative since the engine is not manufactered anymore. Looking for help on what engine to to use instead, if I can't find the Westerbeke.

You may want to check with Westerbeke, certainly they could help you. If you know the allowed weight for the engine and transmission and HP for the design you can search many of the manufacturers sites. Many give dimensioned drawings and weights for their engine models. Along with HP torque and fuel tables.

The 26g, IIRC, was a nice little three cylinder fresh-water cooled gas engine, known for it's very low vibration level. You may wish to check around and see what Westerbeke replaced it with in their line. I'm not an engine specialist, but if memory serves, Westerbeke was the brand name for Bukh DIESEL engines sold in the US. You might want to check out what Westerbeke marketed for their gas engines. They only have one at present, which looks a lot like the 26g, but with four cylinders. http://www.westerbeke.com/Products/productdetailLanding.aspx?id=12
