...except wait for the storm front to pass through! I just hauled the boat out during a sunny break in the rain-- had to do a little more fussing with the sail rig. A bit tricky, as the wind is gusting to 15 knots in the back-yard.

Hopefully we'll catch some wind from the tail end of the weather, and, rain or not, we're going sailing, rowing, fishing tommorrow (Saturday), at Henry Hagg Lake, boat ramp C. Mid-morning 'til late afternoon.

Check out my wife's roses in the background...the driveway is strewn with brilliant petals...

Interested local forumfolk are invited to swing by for a ride. The lake is full and was just stocked this week. Plus, the smallmouth action is rumoured to be good, though I've not tried it yet this season.

Lee I can't wait to hear how it goes. The dory looks beautiful, right down to the roses your wife planted to photograph it in front of. I am feeling inspired by your state of completion, so am planning to get off my keister and build the centerboard trunk on my Swampscott this weekend. Good luck, and please post photos of the maiden voyage!

Cheers,
Jeff

Looks like you've done a fine job of building there.

Well, I always enjoy fishing, even if it's just for compliments! :D

My wife says I'm obsessed with boats, but I've seen her picking aphids off her roses by hand...one at a time...turning over and inspecting leaves...rummaging gently through the petals...

The results are worthwhile, either way I figure.

And yes, Bob, I've already felt a twinge or two, but I've been boatless (except for a canoe) for over a year. I'm ready to do some serious boating this summer.

Besides, I'm a homeowner. There's always plumbing I can work on.

A really beautiful boat...excellent work indeed!! Please share a little more information about the design and how you built her, what type of wood did you use? (those seats look great)....

Good size boat for Henry Haag Lake, last time I was there it was little more than a puddle. Hope it filled up.
Lovely craftmanship by the way.

Nice work, that looks gorgeous. Let us know how it goes. But don't forget, you have to start planning for your Bartender...

Good looking boat Skipper. Fair winds.

Don't let a puddle stop you. Inland sailors are good in puddles, ... we don't have much option around here.

Well, I just posted the results...

About Hagg Lake, Old Sailor, there are still years when it gets down pretty small, maybe 300 acres or so, surrounded by expansive mud flats. Makes it easier to find the perch, though...

And Greg, the framing wood for the Bartender is stacked outside under the eaves of the shop!

Edited to add:

Shalfleet, sorry I missed your query. The hull is DF plywood (overbuilt with 1/2" !!!), the thwarts and transom H. mahogony, and the trim and floor grating w. oak.
