http://www.woodenboat.com/forum/nordicseaman.sutterfly.com/p5310040 (2)524I have found a sailboat in a local yard and I am trying to identify the designer and builder. It appears to be a Knockabout Sloop from the early 1900s but I am not very knowledgable in these matters.

I am looking for suggestions on how to go about identifying the boat.

Based on the tiny little photo, I'm pretty sure it's a boat.

I see registration numbers, you can use them to look it up with your state, the papers may have the builder and year.

There could be a builders plate in the boat as well.

I'm sure that Thorne will be along shortly to tell you in detail how to post pictures. In the meantime, if you can put them somewhere on the web where we can see them, you can click on the icon in the "quick reply" box that looks like this:
http://www.woodenboat.com/forum/images/editor/insertimage.gif
and copy/paste the URL from your image location into the resulting window.
