Hello All,
I'm looking for information concerning an Alden sloop. It was designed in 1938, and called the Avenir. A 44ft sloop, its plans can be viewed at the Niels Helleberg Yacht Design website, design 0680:

I've spoken with Niels, and he was unable to give any information on the original Avenir or any sister ships if there were any. The original was designed and built for, George E. McQuesten Esq. Neils had no history for the boat. Apparently plans were last sold about 5 years ago to someone in New Zealand.
I'm curious to learn a bit more about the history of the original sloop, and talk to anyone who has ever built or intended to build the Avenir.
