Can anyone help me identify this boat? The person I purchased it from said it was a 1956 Mastercraft. After looking for pictures of one I found that master craft started in 1968. Any information would be appreciated.http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a94/titus68vw/001.jpg

Thank you.
Do you know where I can get a picture of one.

Design is typical of `50s plywood runabouts. A company called "Lawrence Plycraft" in Massachusetts built this style boat, plywood sheathed with one layer of fiberglass. And another boat I had from`55 - `61 looked like your boat. It was an ANA (Associated Naval Architects) built in Norfolk, VA.

Mastercraft is probably the maker of the trailer. They were built at Middletown, CT.

Get some longitudinal bunks under that boat. The rollers are going to kill the boat.

What does that little metal tag on the inside of the transom say?

Could be a kit boat or a "Popular Mechanics" magazine type homemade boat.

Can you read that little zinc plate on the transom interior? Any letters or symbols?

I'd be more worried about what looks like delam or paint blistering on the transom than finding out what it is. That is some pretty nasty blistering and might indicate something equally nasty going on underneath
