Bad idea?
I'm hummin' and hawin' here about what I want to build.
The Tammie Norrie is really nice as well as the Guillemot.
The only problem is I want to be able to put a small engine on the back. Ideally something like a sea gull or other impractical classic outboard!

Lapstrake build, fit out the door of my basement, sail well, row well and could take an outboard in a pinch?

Sail around gulf islands of Vancouver Island. (Newcastle Island to Valdez, Gabriola, Mudge, Decourcy etc....)

Here's what I want to build. Stable, roomy, and can handle a motor, a little heavy for rowing, though. http://www.selway-fisher.com/OtherDB.htm#KANE

The Tammie Norrie is a wonderful dinghy. My son always takes his Honda 2.3 along with him due to the very strong tidal flows we have in our area. Sits on the transom, no problems at all.
