Fired up Snoose this morning and pulled out of Shilshole about 8am headed south down Colvos Passage. Dropped anchor in Gig Harbor about 11am. Rowed to town for groceries. Back on board for a sandwich then a short nap. 75 degrees beautiful day. Gin and tonic on deck while reading, "A Walk in the Woods" by Bill Bryson. Another gin and tonic with some chips and salsa.
6:00 pm time to start thinking about dinner. Martini on deck while thinking about it. Opened a bottle of 20 year old Tefft barrel select cab. Vinegar. Had to resort to a cheap red table wine. Still went nicely with the steak, potatoes and salad.
Gorgeous evening in the harbor as many boats idle by. Next up, a snifter of good cognac, cup of coffee and a dark chocolate ephemere while watching the sunset. I'm sure Lew would cap this off with a good cigar, but I've never developed that pleasure.
Some days are better than others.
