I am restoring a 1962 H28 in the San Francisco Bay Area. M One on my mizzen sheet c blocks exploded on my last sail and I want to find replacements for all main and mizzen sheet blocks. I have been steered away from ABI blocks as pretty, but not substantial. I have looked online at blocks offered by Wooden Boat Foundation in Port Townsend but don't know if they are real or decorative.
Any suggestions?

While I like wood shelled blocks, "Bright Star" had a set when we bought her, they are not exactly proper for the H28, if you wish to keep to the Herreshoff design. I did some scrounging in marine junk stores as well as purchased a couple of reproduction blocks from J. Reinick & Son and am very satisfied with the look and service they provide. They are so well made that I am sure they will out last the boat!

Craig, Jay is the man to talk to about anything related to an H-28. Not only does he own one, he is one of the nicest people to post in this forum.

J.M. Reineck makes great bronze blocks as well as other bronze hardware. You really get what you pay for and he is a great person to deal with. Here is the link to his website: http://www.bronzeblocks.com/

Where is your H28? I have the cheap Japanese:D (Far East 1965) knockoff "Modified" version currently berthed in Richmond.
I also have a few wooden blocks not being used......
