Stratford-Upon-Avon river festival

Anyone going? http://www.stratfordriverfestival.co.uk/ I'll be there tomorrow with family doing touristy things, but SWMBO says I may step away to see narrow boats and canal boats for a bit.

Would enjoy meeting forumites, or getting advice about any particular boats to see.

My old stompin' grounds, lived in Droitwich for a couple of years in the mid-90's.

See if you can escape ShakespeareLand(tm) and head down the B439 to Bidford on Avon, then down the B4085 to Evesham. Much better river experience and you get away from all those Yank tourist buses...

I wasn't able to get to the other bank for detail pictures of boats. We also passed about 20 of them rafted up I believe just north of the Banbury train station.

We were in Paris last week Lew, unfortunately not for Bastille Day. But we rented an apartment (waaaaay cheaper than a hotel for a family of four anywhere in the city limits) and got this view from the bedroom window to boot.
