Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how long before a log raft gets too water-logged to float?

Can it be re-rigged as a schooner?

I like the basic design but want something similar with a clipper bow, easy but traditional construction (no plywood), able to use the 25HP Mercury outboard I just bought for five bucks from a friend. Oh yeah, it has to be car-toppable.
My budget is $200.00
Anyone know of anything like that?
:D

Genius! It's what every live aboard sailor needs, a floating shed! You know, when it get's a bit cramped in the forward berth, when the scent of last nights curry lingers, when you need to go for a (short) walk. And the shed, fishing gear and a crab pot, a place to tinker with that recalcitrant OB, somewhere to toss that dodgy radio or the old stove that you might need one day. And if you do need to clear up or get the yen to travel, just cast off and let the wind and tide do the work.

You can kind of imagine it towed behind Raw Faith.....
