I'm annoyed with myself for missing this on ebay... I was the underbidder and it went for over $160.
Anyone know where something like this can be sourced?

The hole size is about 1 1/2"... and there is a deflector cast in to keep the exhaust water off the hull
I'm finding that the nz equivalent of ebay- trademe.co.nz has a more interesting range of boat stuff then we have on ebay here. Post from there to here is not too bad. Sending money from here to there is a bit of a hassle though.

Not quite the same, but fitted over a thru hull, near as

One of those could work, with a plate added. I've got a couple of them about the right size too ... from a collection of 1930's bits I bought a while back.
I've spent some time on Trademe too - thanks

Nope.;)
We used to have about 3 good second hand chandleries here but now its quite hard to find the old stuff. Its all on Trademe in a bidding war.

Over a hundred and sixty bucks! Holey Moley! I better figure out how to open an eBay account and start offing the crap that's collecting dust in my shop! It's a nice piece if that's exactly what you need, but, man, $160? I've seen a lot of that kind of thing end up in the landfill because nobody wanted to bother taking a sawzall to cut it out when the boat was broken up. About all anybody bothers to grab are bronze cleats and turnbuckles, if they get to 'em before it's in the dump truck. Times change, I guess.

Yeah - it surprised me at that price, but, I've never seen one like it - and I think its a great design.... perfect for the old two stroke putt putts, which leave a "nice" oil mist down the side of the hull. That device deflects the exhaust / cooling water mix away from the hull.
I think you'll still get the black stain though. My chapman used to shoot the exhaust straight out, but there was enough backdraught or whatever that it always made a bit of a mess of the topsides

You must be getting close to splash date?

I've been a bit slack lately... although I did get the hull sanding pretty much finished this week. I need to re-drill the grounding strip screw holes (I've bored them all out and filled them with epoxy) - then its painting time. I'm thinking of hiring a paint booth and spraying it.. not sure yet.
I still have to finish the interior and then do the spars.

You should get Danny the master chef and master painter in Ian.
Mike, the bloke with the Serafynn, was unhappy with his paint job on the top sides and got Danny down to repaint it.
He was very impressed with the result.
Ian, crikey that was expensive!
It is the identical item to the one fitted to our David Payne putt-putt 'Hooligan' which we just recently sold. I would be surprised if they are not around as they are a standard Blaxland-Chapman fitting and must have been made it the thousands over the years.
Maybe try Balaxland Chapman Marine on the Central Coast on 02 4368 2201 if they are still in bussiness.
Cheers
Lion.

I've tried that number before John - they have moved - but I'll try to track them down.
