A student worker who recently left my very small boatbuilding yard (me plus the dog and some wood) managed to "borrow" my slick.
Here in UK such things are hard to find, the lost one was given to me by a wonderful gent I met in Oregon many years ago. Can anybody tell me where I can get another? Barefoot augers don't exist over here. Anywhere I can get them "over there"?

There are catalogs selling them. But I think that because of the evident emotional connection to the one you had, I'd try to find the sticky-fingered student. Scotland Yard? Interpol? The Mafia?
No doubt someone here will have more specific help.

Just saw a couple in Anacortes, Washington, USA... I KNOW I saw some in the local marine supply place... (Funky, oldtime, REAL ships chandlry kind of place... can't remember the name....) I THINK I saw at Flounder Bay Lumber,, (link provided on the Woodenboat home page...) All were pretty pricey... about $80 US, believe...)

Just saw a couple in Anacortes, Washington, USA... I KNOW I saw some in the local marine supply place... (Funky, oldtime, REAL ships chandlry kind of place... can't remember the name....) I THINK I saw at Flounder Bay Lumber,, (link provided on the Woodenboat home page...) All were pretty pricey... about $80 US, believe...)

it may not be of any use but I bought all my barefoot augers from my local second hand shop ----they had all come from the bridge repair department of the main roads dept ,they are the only people who use them.I never see them in the shops.They cost me about $5 each.They probably still have some.
