Sailboats - Daysailers
Navigator
Classic daysailing yacht of glued plywood lapstrake construction suitable for first time builders. Choice of sloop, yawl or lugsail rigs, carries up to six and is suitable for coastal cruising.
Puffin
The Welsford Navigator, Puffin, was launched on June 5, 2016. This is my first scratch built boat. Okume plywood was used throughout with white oak and Brazilian cherry for the various and sundry bits.
MARY T
I built my John Welsford designed Houdini cat yawl in my garage. It took almost five years. The boat is constructed of okoume marine plywood, douglas fir and mahogany. The multi-chine hull was built with sawn plywood frames and douglas fir stringers.
Aquarail light
Found this on Vintage Boats and set about building it light and cheap. Total build boat about $300 nz ply and glass cloth with polyester. Ply was not treated and with a heavy scoring got a good bond.Could not believe how well it goes with me at 84 kg with a 5 hp OB.
ANDIAMO
This is my first ever build. It’s from a CLC Tandem Annapolis Wherry kit that my wife gave me for Christmas. Long, cold winters in Wisconsin made for an enjoyable way to spend time indoors. The boat was launched last May, when the ice cleared from our local lakes.
Clarence River Dory
Outboard motor workboat for 8 to 30 hp Shallow draft, high capacity, simple build.
Oar / Paddle
Seagull
Simple sheet plywood sports rowing boat, stitch and tape construction. As easy to build as it gets!
