On June 17, 2015, Mark and Suzanne Nye launched their Shearwater Double at Silver Springs Florida. The kayak, built from kit by Chesapeake Light Craft, took approximately 135 hours over a six month period. Construction is stitch and glue with sapele deck and okume hull.

I built the Shearwater Sport kayak kit from Chesapeake Light Craft and added a Kuvia kayak sail. The boat is made with okume and sapele marine grade plywood. Picture taken at Moraine state park north of Pittsburgh PA for initial launch.
This Wood Duck 12 kayak is the first boat that Rich Schmidt ever built. He built it for his wife and launched it in early spring.
