Ottoman Frigate Ertuğrul Exhibit and Concert in NYC

-

Institute of Nautical Archaeology supporters and members in and near the Big Apple will want to check out an exhibit in the Nippon Club Gallery in New York City from November 27 to 29. The display includes artifacts from the Ertugrul shipwreck, an Ottoman imperial frigate that sank off the coast of Japan in 1890.

The event will conclude with a concert in Carnegie Hall featuring “A Call for World Peace” composed by Mukaiyama Seiji. The symphony was inspired by the excavation and follows the story of the ship’s fateful voyage to Japan. Tickets are free and can be found here.
