Andre Cloutier took a course in March 2007 at the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton, NY with John Summers on how to build a 16/30 canoe. He took home the unfinished boat and continued working on it until the launch in early August 2007.
This is the “Sea Rover” from the Science and Mechanics Boat Builder Handbook (circa 1958). This was built over the past 2 years. It is plywood over oak frames. I had actually built the 15′ version of this boat when I was 13 years old.
Carol Knickman took an off-site WoodenBoat class in the fall of 2012.
This 1954 Peterborough Aqua Flyer cedar strip runabout was restored over 6 years with interruptions for kids and many other fun things. All ribs, keel, keelson, stem, and seats were replaced and the bottom was fibreglassed. The restoration was a family effort involving three generations.
Chris Bullen started building SAM'S SMILE in February 2000. Rascal is 14'8 x 5'6" Ken Bassett Rascal design. Launched in May 2001, he named it SAM'S SMILE as he could not "keep the grin off his face whenever he went into the garage to work on it.
Today (7-26-20) is the day after many hours and years of life, that I get to finally launch my new canoe.It is a 13′ 7″ MACGREGOR canoe designed by Iain Oughtred.

Rick Gower of Drysdale, Victoria, Australia, built this lovely dinghy from amoora and marine plywood. He made the knees from blackwood. Rick plans to teach his grandchildren to sail and row in THE SHIP off the beaches of the Bellarine Peninsula near his home.
