*People’s Choice Awards for best in each category of the 50 exceptional boats displayed ashore and afloat from 1 year to 100 years old with storied pasts.

*First RyboRendezvous on the West Coach honoring the “Stradivarius” of sportfishing boats and the
featured marque of the Festival
*Guest Speaker Pat Rybovich at 5:30 pm shares her insights into the American company that created the modern sportfishing yacht in the 1940s. Pat is the daughter of boatbuilder and designer Tommy Rybovich, and is the author of Rybovich: The Stuff of Legend and is writing a screen play.
*Commemorative Poster art by internationally known fine artist Scitt Kennedy. Kennedy has been hailed as a true ‘mariner’s artist’ because of his ingenious and sensitive portrayal of both modern and classic sailing vessels.
*Classic yachts take you back in time: 85-foot fife schooner Astor built in 1923 by William Fife & Sons; 100-foot motoryacht Electra, designed by Ted Geary; and 82-foot historic schooner Curlew. A limited number of tickets will be sold to cruise on Curlew.
*Maritime Village - Exhibits and activities by nautical artists, suppliers, craftsmen and organizations
*Food & Entertainment
*Water taxi to Festival on Saturday, 10 am-5 pm from pickup points around Newport Harbor
WHY: From canoes to launches, racing schooners, runabouts, and historical yachts — power, sail, and human powered—they are all here at the Newport Beach Wooden Boat Festival. Get up close and meet the boat owners, restorers, racers, model makers, knot tyers, youth sailing instructors and racers who enthusiastically makeup Southern California’s recreational boating community.
