John Jamieson worked for decades as a shipwright in Juneau, Alaska, before retiring to Kila, Montana. He now builds skiffs, kayaks, drift boats, and, with the arrival of a niece, cradle boats.
This is a modified version of a T.L. Simmons 18′ sea skiff.I used marine plywood sides instead of Lapstrake. I use the boat in the 10,000 Islands and in the Atlantic. Very seaworthy and tough.

Rick Granger built this Chesapeake Light Craft Wood Duck 10 over six weeks in the winter of 2010-2011. The 10' hull weighs just 34 pounds and is made from 3mm okoume plywood, with a deck of western red and white cedar strips.
I built this little Beach Pea so my granddaughters and I can learn to sail, it also rows very nicely. It is constructed of doug fir marine ply for the planks and almost everything else is ash. The name and paint job were inspired by traditional Jamaican fishing boats.
