WREN was built on our patio in Chapel Hill, NC. It only took about 20 months longer then the 2 months I originally promised my wife. This was my first attempt at boat building and now I'm ready to leave my job as a nurse, head back to school, and figure out how to make a livelihood of it.
Emmanuel Alassoeur built this 14′ Périssoire from plans by François Sergent that appeared in 1944 in his book called Construction of Canoes and Kayaks. Emmanuel spent about four months building the hull, planking her with red cedar and building the deck from plywood.
With a design by Sam Devlin, owner Dan Taylor built this stitch and glue cruiser out of Okumo plywood. The cabin is finished with Doug fir and Alaskan yellow cedar. It took just over two years to complete with help from family and friends.
Captain Yo of Southwest Harbor, Maine, designed, built, and launched this sailing model of the SANTA MARIA in Blue Hill Bay in October, 2011. He writes that the carved cedar hull is 33″ long and weighs 25 lbs.
Launching Renetta, Rooster # 746, at the first annual Rooster Week, in 2014.
Built during lockdown for my 3-year-old daughter, who helped choose the fabric for skinning. The boat is a Wee Lassie from Dave Gentry, built from plans. Very happy with the outcome!
The Elizabeth II is a lovely Chaisson Dory, built in a glued lap plywood construction finished in mahogany.
We were commissioned to build this sweet rowboat for Douglas and Elizabeth Eckmann of Ft. Myers Florida to row and play around in the waves, which she does admirably.

Built 2019-2021, 1,300 hours. Sailed just seven times.
