Skeena is a 20 foot cat ketch rigged trailer sailor. She weighs about 700 pounds and draws 9″ board up and 42″ with the board down. Water ballast adds another 400+ pounds. We sail her on the finger lakes, 1000 Islands and Chesapeake bay with plans for plenty of other spots by trailer.
Heritage is a Grand Banks style dory. She’s plywood on wood frame, built off the “Nova Scotian” plans from Spira International.
The MARY OLIVER, built for photographer Amy Melious, is named for the poet, and for all poems inspired by nature. The designer and builder, Martin Herbert, looked hard at the work of J. Henry Rushton as well as commentaries on the type by Iain Oughtred.
BULLFROG is a Sam Devlin Godzilla 22′ tug boat design built by Denman Marine Tasmania, Australia. She was constructed from Lloyd’s certified Okoume plywood, fibregalss and WEST System epoxy resins.
Six youths in GreenFleet’s after-school boatbuilding program launched two Bevin’s skiffs in April 2011. They modified them from the original Joe Youcha design by raising the freeboard 1″. The boats will be used in GreenFleet’s summer environmental education and stewardship program.
Ted Jones of Gundalow Boat Shop in Ossipee, NH designed and built this 11'6" dory skiff BANNITO for his son and grandson. She was launched in September 2002 on the Sakonnet River in RI. Her hull is okoume plywood with epoxy and Dynel. She is based on his earlier design, the DORITA dory.
Despite choosing a career as an auto mechanic, Joseph LaBella's lifelong dream was to build a boat as a dedication to his father, who introduced Joe to boating when Joe was just 3 years old. Joe used no plans in the construction, just a scale drawing of his desired outcome.
We launched the Ozona Pram demo this last May and it debuted at the Cedar Key Small boat Meet 2016
Ralph Cioppa made use of what he had on hand in the construction of this Nimrod 12 skin-on-frame canoe. After bending the ash frames in his hot tub, he shaped them, then left them to form in a metal trash can.
