Sulkava is a two person sliding seat row boat that readily converts to a single. It is designed by Ruud Van Veelen a Dutchman living in Finland. I chose this design as I was after something that was fast and elegant but suitable for two novice rowers.
A Chesapeake Light Craft Northeaster Dory with a sloop rig. Hull was built at the WoodenBoat School last fall under the tutelage of John Harris. Completed fittings and finished in my garage in Falmouth, MA. Launched in West Falmouth Harbor, on Cape Cod, MA.
These are 10ft flat bottom skiffs built by 5th graders at the Dennis Haley Elementary School in Boston. Materials are: 3/8″ fir, marine ply bottom, white oak stem, frames, knees, rails and keelson, old growth eastern pine planking, silicone bronze fastened.

Jeff Spira has news from Iceland. He writes, "Geir Gislason and August Hinriksson recently launched this new 11' stitch-and-glue skiff. It has 1/4" plywood frames and 1/4" plywood covering. The design is a Spira International Mission Bay plan, available from Spira International, Inc., P.O.
