RYD-14.11 is a the smallest ocean going yacht I think practical. Smaller then this and life is challenging to say the least. This boat has an impressive stability curve and her comfort level in a rough sea is unmatched by modern craft of similar length. This version is the deep keel schooner. Two shallower keels are available, one using a centerboard. The hull is buildable as round bilged in strip planked, cold molded or lapstrake and also as a double chine plywood build. Rig versions include a gaff sloop, gaff schooner and a low aspect Bermudian sloop. She’s available with a standard cabin or the cuddy (shown). Sitting headroom is offered and accommodation for two.
Plans are in imperial and metric, include; lines, offsets, sail, spar, rudder, centerboard, station molds, fore hatch, bulkheads, blocks, engine well, plywood panel layout and construction drawings. Also rough assembly guides, building tips and tricks, assembly photos.
