"COR MEUM” – “MY HEART” - formerly “INVERNESS,” was built as a racing yawl by the Derecktor shipyard 1963 for the Commodore of the New York Yacht Club. Designed by Sparkman and Stephens, her hull is double planked mahogany with laminated white oak frames. Her keel stem and stern are solid oak. All fastenings are bronze. She won the Newport to Bermuda race in 1966, and more recently the Antigua Yacht Regatta in 2000. She underwent an extensive refit in 2004 – new frame heels, new deck, new mainship hatches, new custom portholes, new winches. The engine (a Beta diesel 75-hp) was replaced in 2010 As both a boat and a work of art, a symbiosis of form and function, she is still-beating piece of maritime history, and the possibilities with such a yacht are endless, as a charter boat, as a family cruiser, as an ocean racer, as whatever you imagine her to be.
