Project boat announcement; Located in Seattle, WA. If you're looking for an all original classic racing sloop and have time and money to work on her, VELEDA is your girl! With vintage wonders like an ice chest and sea toilet, this gal is a time capsule! Comes with original mast and sails, a deal for the right buyer! Last haul out: 2017 Motor: Atomic four (gas), draws about 7′. Beloved 1963 L-36, VELEDA built in Vancouver, BC looking for a new family to create memories with. After being in our family for generations, VELEDA is looking for a new home. She is currently moored at Shilshole outside of Seattle. She needs someone to see her beauty and be willing to dedicate some time to restoring her former glory. She is a quick, sleek sailboat and my family has many memories of sailing the Puget Sound and beyond. She’s absolutely stunning with a space conscious layout out. Our girls had many sleepover parties on VELEDA and she can truly sleep 6-8 people with a full galley. She was built to go many places but like all wood boats, they need more maintenance than we can keep up with right now, and truthfully, she needed the maintenance ten years ago. The right home is more important than the money. She needs immediate repair (don’t think you can live on her the next day) and her motor is inoperable due to gas put in it with too much water. However, if she appeals to you and you have the resources to be a responsible boat owner, we will find a way to get her into your hands. Would love to see her sail again. Could be a great liveaboard someday! Feel free to make an offer! Most important thing is that you are serious and have means to take over boat. We would rather have her securely disposed of than find her abandoned in a year. Asking $1,600, but this is a negotiation start point and frankly an asking price to thwart anyone who thinks they are getting a free boat. Trust me, you’ll be paying in labor and hours and money. Two stipulations: 1) you must either haul her out for hull inspection/insurance in your name before floating her away or 2) you must haul her out to trailer her away. We cannot sub-lease the moorage.
