Caledonia yawl


Designed by Iain Oughtred, the Caledonia yawl is 19′ 6,″ glued lapstrake, a double-ended sliding Gunter rig. The boat is a day sailor/camp cruiser and includes an out board well. Professionally built by Trevor Fulton of Fulton Composites. The Boats keel and stem are made of Oak and the floors are Tamarack. The boat also has western red cedar floor boards throughout. Ash gunwhales, Seats are yellow birch. The boats hull is constructed of 3/8″ marine plywood finished with five coats of Marine enamel over three coats of marine primer. All gunwhales, seats, floor boards and trim are finished with six coats of high gloss spar varnish. The hollow spars are made of Douglas fir and are finished with oil. All fastenings, gudgeons, pintles, pivot for the centerboard and rudder are silicon bronze. World famous Nat Wilson built the sails, the sails corners are hand stitched. All the running rigging is three strand spun polyester with plenty of traditional eye splicing and whippings. The boats standing rigging is Dyneema, and it is riding on a Karavan galvanized trailer. $14,500 CDN.
