Basken is one of the last known of the fleet of Knarr Kutters (sister ship of the IRC Knarr 30) that resided on Lake Washington in Seattle at the “Cozy Cove Yacht Club”. Original design by Erling Kristoffersens and built at the Grimsoykilens and Risor boat works in Norway in 1960-61 and shipped along with eight others to Seattle in the 70’s. The fleet was very active from the 70’s to the 90’s. She underwent an extensive renovation and refit and was relaunched in Friday Harbor, WA in 2017. The hull is constructed on Douglas Fir and the frame on White Oak. New spars were built of Sitka Spruce. After being in the water for a few years she needs new bottom painting, some touchup paint on the hull and revarnishing of the brightwork. Comes with two sets of sails and a trailer.
