“DOWAGER” is in Bristol condition and structurally better than new after a 1998-2002 restoration: the hull was expertly rebuilt from the deck down, replacing all 132 white oak ribs, oak keel, engine beds, mahogany transom, cedar deck and more. All new electrical and plumbing systems and tanks were installed, while the cabins, bridge deck, galley and heads were restored as originally as possible. The hull is extremely fair and true to her lines. The most recent survey estimates the replacement value at $500,000. The boat was repowered in 1988 with a 100 horsepower Westerbeke 6 cylinder diesel which has about 385 engine hours (only 55 hours since Jan 2009). DOWAGER is a uniquely strong, modernized boat from 1931 where all the modern updates have been hidden from view, while everything visible is of its original era, and of museum quality. This is a spectacular family boat, three generations of our family have loved gathering for magical summer days of cruising, swimming, and fun on Cayuga Lake. DOWAGER has been meticulously maintained and kept under cover since the 2002 restoration. $235,000.
